See you in the Hamptons

January 01, 1970 12.00 AM

It’s high season in the Hamptons, that starry tip of Long Island that’s a who’s who of New York glitterati that come for long weekends in gilded boroughs like East Hampton and Montauk. For those that have never been, first-timers often complain about the lack of quality hotel options, but this year there’s the addition of Topping Rose House in Bridgehampton.

Co-owned by a former investment banker and partner Tom Colicchio, this iconic colonial landmark features distinguished façade set-back from the main Sag Harbor turnpike, cocooned in a manicured landscape of herb gardens and shingled cottages features a lux design aesthetic. The property is also home to one of the Hamptons’ newest eateries, operated by Tom Colicchio and truly one of the hottest reservations of the summer season.

Other notable dining additions include BLT Steak that’s set-up inside The Capri for the year, formerly home to Nobu last season. The Bagatelle/Philippe on Three Mile Road next to SL East is now called Sienna Restaurant from the owners of New York’s T-Bar. On weekends, the restaurant morphs into a pop-up of Pink Elephant that migrates back on the Hamptons scene for 2013.
